ICON America: A SALTY DOG

A Salty Dog for ICON America is a fashion editorial series that draws on the raw, sun-drenched aesthetic of coastal life. Through a mix of warm-toned golden hour captures and high-contrast monochrome portraits, the project leans into a weathered, nautical sensibility. Photographer Alessandro Burzigotti frames model Valentin Humbroich against rugged shorelines and weathered boat decks, utilizing natural light to emphasise both the texture of knitwear and the surrounding maritime environment. The series features an intentional analogue film quality, complete with visible grain and date stamps, which lends an intimate, voyeuristic feel to the imagery. Styling by Gro Curtis and Michele Bagnara leans into a classic, tactile wardrobe of knit sweaters, light linens, and delicate gold chains. The final compositions are further refined through the photo editing of Goran Macura and makeup artistry by Luciano Chiarello, with some frames incorporating handwritten script overlays to evoke a cinematic, narrative depth.
