Captured for ICON America, the editorial series "What good is beauty if it has no blood running through it" presents a collection of portraits exploring the intersection of historical silhouette and contemporary texture. Photographer Daniel Archer utilizes chiaroscuro lighting and moody, low-key compositions to heighten the raw atmosphere of the project. The series features model Alvar af Schultén, placed within varied rustic and domestic environments, from distressed artist studios to dimly lit, ornate interiors. The visual narrative relies on a rich, earthy palette and analogue film techniques to emphasize the tactile quality of the fabrics—ranging from structured military-style jackets to layered lace and damask.
