Mariacarla x Dust Overload

Jun 2026
In the latest issue of Dust Magazine, the Mariacarla x Dust Overload project presents a masterful exploration of fashion editorial portraiture. Starring the iconic Mariacarla Boscono, the series leans into a mood of quiet, domestic introspection, juxtaposing the high-fashion sensibilities of luxury houses against the unassuming backdrops of vintage-inspired interiors. Under the creative direction of Betsy Johnson, photographer Guen Fiore expertly utilizes natural light to soften the boundaries between the architectural rigor of the clothing and the candid, lived-in environments. The imagery captures an array of textures—from structured black leather and voluminous tulle to delicate, cable-knit wools—rendered with a sharp, editorial precision that highlights the model’s distinctive, bleached-brow aesthetic. Complementing the visual narrative, hair styling by Patti Bussa and artistry by makeup artist Raffaele Romangoli achieve a balance of sleek, naturalistic polish and unconventional edge. Whether capturing Boscono amidst lush garden foliage or perched upon a floral-upholstered sofa, the project feels intimate and transient, reading as a sophisticated dialogue between identity and atmosphere. By prioritizing a restrained, lifestyle-oriented composition, the collaboration elevates the standard fashion spread into a tactile study of presence. Through deliberate styling and nuanced portraiture, the work celebrates the transformative power of both the subject and the garment within a beautifully curated, neutral-toned landscape.
