DEEPCUTS Print Magazine is an independent publication that explores the intersection of urban life, street culture, and cultural identity through a stark, editorial lens. Under the creative direction of Matija Gabrilo, the publication utilizes a minimalist layout aesthetic, characterized by high-contrast monochrome spreads and structured sans-serif typography. The magazine serves as a platform for documentary-style storytelling, weaving together intimate portraits, gritty street photography, and long-form interviews. The project incorporates a diverse range of visual techniques, including 35mm film photography and grainy textures that lean into an analogue aesthetic. Editorial layouts balance bold, graphic headline typography against dense blocks of prose, creating a rhythm of reading that mirrors the observational nature of the photography. Featured content spans topics such as skate culture, graffiti documentation, and personal essays on identity, delivered with an earthy, desaturated palette and rigorous attention to negative space.
