Human Story is an extensive fashion editorial series produced for Side-note, capturing a diverse array of narratives through atmospheric portraiture. The project balances gritty, analogue-inspired location shoots with clean, high-key studio photography, creating a visual study that spans rugged coastal settings, urban environments, and minimal studio backdrops. Photographers Dan Roberts and Justin Woo work to document model Mali Koopman across these varied scenes, utilizing natural golden hour lighting and high-contrast monochrome treatments. The visual language is defined by careful attention to texture—from glossy vinyl and embellished fabrics to the weathered surfaces of coastal piers and vintage automotive interiors. Production was managed by Assembly Agency, with fashion styling by Emma Kalfus and Sophia Murdoch, and hair and makeup by Nisha Van Berkel.
