Cartier
Fall 2024 Ad Campaign

Nov 2024
The Cartier Fall 2024 ad campaign masterfully channels the nostalgia of golden-age cinema, transforming the luxury jewellery house into an intimate protagonist of its own story. Photographed by Anton Gottlob under the sharp creative direction of David Lane, the campaign finds its muse in Elle Fanning, who navigates an evocative, theater-inspired landscape. The project leans into editorial minimalism, eschewing the standard high-gloss product showcase in favor of a narrative-driven lifestyle aesthetic that feels both candid and meticulously staged. From the velvet-lined intimacy of vintage cinema seating to the stark geometry of ticket booths, the imagery uses natural light and carefully placed studio strobe accents to draw the eye toward the intricate craftsmanship of Cartier’s gold collections. Stylist Edward Bowleg III pairs Fanning’s sleek blonde bob with textured, sequined garments and timeless trench coats, creating a visual language where the metallic sheen of stacked bracelets and chunky chain necklaces provides the definitive accent. The campaign serves as a masterclass in cinematic storytelling, blending warm, rich tones with dynamic, high-contrast compositions that emphasize the brand’s enduring elegance. By juxtaposing Fanning’s joyful, natural charisma against the moody, deep-shadowed environment of an empty auditorium, the work captures a sophisticated, modern luxury spirit that feels both grand in scope and deeply personal in its execution.
