Description

For the Brioni Fall 2024 ad campaign, creative director Norbert Stumpfl crafts a masterclass in understated luxury, distilling the essence of the heritage house into a series of intimate and profoundly human portraits. Anchored by the magnetic presence of actor Oscar Isaac, the imagery leans into a refined, minimalist aesthetic that feels both contemporary and timeless. Photographed by Josh Olins, the campaign utilizes a clean, studio-centric approach where the interplay between shadow and texture takes center stage. The visual narrative relies heavily on the nuanced interplay of natural light, which meticulously traces the heavy wool weaves, pleated trousers, and structured chore jackets that define the collection. Stylist Michael Fisher elevates the wardrobe with a focus on relaxed tailoring, allowing the garments to drape with an effortless sophistication that mirrors Isaac’s own composed, steady demeanor. Throughout the series, the transition between vibrant, earthy color palettes and sharp, cinematic black and white captures adds a layer of depth, evoking the raw authenticity of 35mm film and analogue aesthetics. With art direction by Li Von Euler, the campaign sidesteps the hyper-stylized tendencies of modern fashion photography in favor of editorial minimalism. By stripping away complex environments, the focus remains entirely on the tactile quality of the fabrics and the quiet, introspective gaze of the talent, resulting in an campaign that feels decidedly classic.
