Acne Paper: LUX ET TENEBRAE

Acne Paper presents LUX ET TENEBRAE, a fashion editorial project that channels a classical, painterly aesthetic through a series of theatrical portraits. The series is defined by its use of rich textures, low-key lighting, and architectural set design, resulting in a dreamlike and moody atmosphere. Photographer Szilveszter Mako works alongside creative director Thomas Persson to explore a desaturated color palette and a gritty, analogue film finish across the imagery. Featuring model Raya Martigny, the project utilizes sculptural elements and elaborate styling by Lisa Jarvis to create surreal, avian, and masked silhouettes. The production is rounded out by hair styling from Pierpaolo Lai, makeup by Vanessa Icareg, and immersive set design by Edith di Monda, with production by Siyan Chen.
