Bio

Mark, a London native, began his creative journey as a make-up artist before discovering his passion for photography following his relocation to Paris in 1984. It was in this vibrant city that he acquired a small nightclub, where he began capturing the essence and energy of his eclectic clientele through his lens. With a circle of friends that included influential editors, Mark's striking images quickly found a home in prominent fashion and lifestyle publications such as i-D and The Face. His unique approach—a fusion of minimalism and vivid color—challenged the conventions of fashion photography, propelling him to the forefront of the industry. Throughout the 1990s, Mark emerged as one of the era's most defining photographers, contributing to groundbreaking magazines like Purple, Self Service, and AnOther, and collaborating on campaigns for iconic brands such as Comme des Garçons, Martin Margiela, and Yohji Yamamoto. In 1995, Mark transitioned to New York, where he has continued to push creative boundaries as a photographer, filmmaker, and musician. His work not only captivates but also resonates deeply, documenting the world with a fresh and inspiring perspective. Currently, he resides and works in Brooklyn, where he remains an influential figure in contemporary art and photography.
