Crosscurrent: L’âme

L’âme is a fashion editorial project for Crosscurrent that explores sculptural forms and organic textures. The work leverages analogue film techniques to capture a series of stark, high-contrast images that alternate between minimalist studio arrangements and candid, outdoor portraiture. The series features model Laura Ponte, whose movement is central to the project’s visual rhythm. With photography by Mark Borthwick and fashion styling by Vanessa Reid, the compositions highlight the interplay between voluminous garments and natural environments, using collage and sequential exposure techniques to emphasize the raw, grainy aesthetic of the film format. Casting for the project was led by Julia Lange, ensuring a focused, intimate perspective throughout the editorial. The imagery leans into a blend of monochromatic and vibrant palettes, utilizing natural light to delineate the intricate fabric folds and shaggy textures of the designer garments.
