Valentino
Lunar New Year 2025 Ad Campaign

Jan 2025
For its Lunar New Year 2025 ad campaign, Valentino leans into a sophisticated, vintage-inspired narrative that masterfully balances festive tradition with the house's signature high-fashion aesthetic. Under the creative direction of Alessandro Michele, the project unfolds as a series of meticulously composed tableaus that utilize editorial minimalism to celebrate the season. Art director Christopher Simmonds orchestrates a visual language defined by deep, monochromatic red walls and opulent, classic interiors, providing a striking backdrop for the collection's delicate textures of ruffled lace, cream-colored wool, and structured leather. Photographer Fish Zhang captures these scenes with a precise blend of studio strobe lighting and soft natural light, ensuring that every detail—from the intricate floral sprigs to the prominent V-logo hardware—is rendered with sharp, high-end clarity. Models Sun Li and Jolin Tsai embody a refined, polished elegance, their presence elevated by the precise styling of Audrey Hu and the atmospheric set design of Feifei Li. The imagery, framed with deliberate, graphic borders, functions as a polished commercial statement that resonates with both cultural heritage and modern luxury. Through this lens, Valentino crafts a narrative that feels both intimate and grand, effectively blending historical charm with the bold, celebratory spirit synonymous with the Lunar New Year.
