Valentino
Holiday 2024 Ad Campaign

Nov 2024
For the Valentino Holiday 2024 campaign, creative director Alessandro Michele orchestrates an opulent masterclass in cinematic storytelling, capturing the essence of a decadent, festive season. Captured by photographer and director Glen Luchford, the campaign unfolds as a series of lavish, editorial diptychs that lean into a moody, high-fashion aesthetic. The imagery explores an intricate dialogue between texture and light, utilizing cinematic lighting and high-contrast studio strobe techniques to elevate the tactile richness of velvet, silk, metallic sequins, and delicate lace. Art direction by Christopher Simmonds ensures a consistent, sophisticated visual language, where ornate environments and reflective surfaces provide a dramatic backdrop for the collection’s vibrant floral motifs and vintage-inspired silhouettes. The styling, helmed by Jonathan Kaye, leans into maximalism, layering pearl necklaces, draped turbans, and structured handbags with precision, while makeup by Yadim—notably featuring bleached-effect eyebrows—adds a sharp, contemporary edge to the otherwise timeless elegance. With casting by Ben Grimes and movement direction by MJ Harper, the campaign feels less like a traditional commercial and more like a curated, atmospheric portrait of celebration. Through the lens of Luchford, the project effectively navigates between moody chiaroscuro portraits and crisp, lifestyle-oriented fashion advertisements, grounding the luxury of Valentino Garavani within a deeply immersive, polished, and masterfully stylized holiday narrative that emphasizes the house’s commitment to artisanal craftsmanship.
