Brand Identity

Feb 2021
This brand identity project centres on the visual articulation of 'New Aesthetic,' a publication documenting contemporary type design. Developed by designers Leonhard Laupichler and Sophia Brinkgerd and published by Sorry Press, the work explores experimental letterforms through a series of editorial spreads. The layout design leans into a clean, minimalist aesthetic, balancing vibrant neon green backgrounds with meticulous grid alignments and high-contrast typography. The project incorporates diverse typeface specimens, utilising vector-based character grids and geometric diagrams to examine the technical anatomy of various fonts. Beyond traditional print layouts, the project identity extends to physical manifestations, including a documentation of the publication set against natural light in a snowy landscape. The design focuses on structured editorial book design, featuring ornamental typography and experimental layouts that highlight the research behind independent type foundries.
