To Be Magazine: Shapeshifter

Shapeshifter is a fashion editorial series produced for To Be Magazine, defined by a surreal and high-contrast visual language. The project centres on a series of studio-based portraits that employ vibrant, saturated colour blocking and graphic set design to create an enigmatic, avant-garde narrative. Photographer Levon Baird collaborates with fashion stylist Emma Bosely to explore themes of form and movement through eclectic silhouettes and sculptural props. The aesthetic is reinforced by hair styling by Kyye and make-up by Sean Brady, which push the boundaries of traditional editorial portraiture. Surya David White’s set design acts as a crucial anchor, using geometric shapes and atmospheric lighting to build a series of distinct, dreamlike environments. The resulting imagery is marked by its bold, clean composition and intentional use of light and shadow.
