Future in the Past is an avant-garde fashion editorial series for TICS Magazine, helmed by photographer Shi Hui Jun. The project explores the intersection of raw materiality and sculptural form, featuring elaborate silhouettes that blend organic elements with industrial architecture. Across the series, the styling utilizes layers of denim, fringe, and metallic accents to construct complex, highly textured looks that lean into an experimental aesthetic. The photography employs hard, directional sunlight and geometric compositions to create striking shadows against weathered concrete and industrial backdrops. By pairing bold graphic elements with natural lighting, the work achieves a tactile, high-contrast visual language. The series features models Houjing Cui and Wang Yuanxiang, who embody the project’s emphasis on architectural movement and structural fashion.
