Future in the Past is a sprawling avant-garde fashion editorial series for TICS Magazine. Photographed by Shi Hui Jun, the project explores the interplay between organic textures and industrial architecture, capturing models Houjing Cui and Wang Yuanxiang in a range of sculptural, layered ensembles that challenge traditional silhouettes. The series leans into a high-contrast aesthetic, utilizing hard light to cast crisp, graphic shadows against weather-worn concrete and distressed interior walls. The styling is marked by a tactile sensibility, featuring complex combinations of denim, feathers, layered seashells, and heavy knits. Through a blend of geometric framing and sharp, directional lighting, the editorial captures a striking dialogue between historical fashion elements and contemporary structural design.
