Modern Weekly China presents 'Beyond the sight,' an editorial series centered on high jewelry. Photographed by Antoine and Charlie, the project focuses on the interplay between intricate gemstone craftsmanship and portraiture. The aesthetic leans into a high-key, minimalist look, utilising clean backgrounds to place the focus on ornate pieces featuring emeralds, diamonds, and pearls. The visuals are defined by a polished approach to styling, with contributions from fashion editor Laetitia Paul, hair stylist Yuji Okuda, and makeup artist Lauren Bos. Techniques such as refined beauty light and symmetrical compositions are employed throughout the series to highlight tactile textures, while occasional use of ribbed glass adds a subtle layer of abstraction to the studio-lit portraits.
