These Chequered Hills is a sprawling fashion editorial commissioned by The Travel Almanac, capturing an evocative narrative centered on model Amelia Gray. Through the lens of photographer Quentin De Briey, the project explores the interplay between intimate interior portraiture and the expansive, hazy urban topography of Los Angeles. The imagery leans into a nostalgic, cinematic mood, utilizing analogue film textures and a warm, golden-hour color palette to bridge the gap between private domesticity and the grit of the city. Fashion direction by Clare Byrne and styling by Gabrielle Marceca define a wardrobe of textured leathers, classic trench coats, and layered knitwear, grounding the editorial in a sophisticated, timeless aesthetic. The series, which integrates both monochrome and warm-toned diptychs, balances sharp high-contrast flash techniques with soft, natural light, resulting in a cohesive study of mood and urban atmosphere.
