Stefan Cooke
Spring 2024 Ad Campaign

Apr 2024
Stefan Cooke’s Spring 2024 ad campaign offers a masterclass in the power of surreal juxtaposition within the luxury fashion sector. By placing shirtless models against the stark, utilitarian backdrop of corrugated metal and withered rural landscapes, the editorial series creates a compelling visual tension between the raw, industrial environment and the brand’s signature playfulness. Photographer Theo Sion leans into high-contrast imagery, utilizing natural light to elevate simple, solitary poses into something distinctly cinematic. Central to the campaign’s impact are the oversized, vibrant foam props—ranging from graphic pink fingers to bright orange thumbs-up symbols—which serve as surreal anchors against the muted, monochrome settings. The deliberate choice to shoot in black and white forces a focus on texture and composition, allowing these whimsical, larger-than-life accents to pop with surprising intensity. With creative direction from Stefan Cooke and Bruce Usher, the project successfully marries lifestyle sensibilities with the sharp aesthetic of high-end fashion. The inclusion of styling by Alice Goddard and precise casting by Piotr Chamier ensures the editorial minimalism remains grounded, preventing the avant-garde props from overshadowing the human element. This project is a striking exercise in modern brand storytelling, using live-action techniques to breathe personality into a commercial format, ultimately grounding the luxury label in a world that feels both familiar and refreshingly absurd.
