Skipping Class

Aug 2026
Skipping Class is a masterclass in editorial fashion photography, where photographer William Arcand crafts an intimate, cinematic narrative that blurs the lines between high-concept luxury and raw, domestic lifestyle. Featuring model Waleska Gorczevski, the campaign channels a gritty, candid aesthetic that leans into the interplay of textures—from shimmering, sequined metallic bodysuits to distressed, loose-fitting cotton. The project deftly explores the tension between vulnerability and strength, utilizing natural light and chiaroscuro techniques to emphasize both the subject's contemplative expressions and the stark, suburban environments. Fashion editor and stylist Ronnie Hart elevates the visual language through thoughtful garment selection, while subtle hair and makeup work by Tsuki and Nolan Eakin maintain an unfiltered, authentic beauty that feels grounded in reality. By juxtaposing reflective, high-fashion elements against the quiet desolation of residential interiors and backyards, the imagery reads as a series of moody, atmospheric stills that feel less like a traditional commercial showcase and more like an authentic, observational documentary. The use of soft light, analogue-inspired film techniques, and deliberate framing creates a cohesive, evocative identity that keeps the focus firmly on the interplay of the human form, tactile surfaces, and the shifting quality of light, resulting in a project that feels both timeless and deeply personal within the luxury fashion space.
