In the striking series Venna, creative directors Juan Duque and Nima Habibzadeh join forces with photographer Mark Mahaney to craft an evocative editorial campaign that bridges the gap between musical soul and architectural decay. Through a rigorous monochromatic lens, the project masterfully juxtaposes the polished, metallic precision of a vintage saxophone against the raw, crumbling textures of a dilapidated barn and windswept, desolate fields. This editorial portraiture series leans heavily into a low-key, chiaroscuro aesthetic, where natural light serves as the primary sculptor of both form and mood. Stylist Adam Winder contributes a grounded, minimalist approach to the attire, utilizing layers of knit textures and structured outerwear that mirror the weathered, skeletal beams of the surrounding landscape. By oscillating between intimate, cinematic close-ups of the subject—whose gaze carries a profound, quiet intensity—and expansive shots of fractured timber frames, the narrative feels less like a traditional brand story and more like a meditation on legacy and structure. The use of analogue film techniques provides a tangible grain and depth, grounding the high-contrast imagery in a timeless reality. Ultimately, Venna stands as a powerful study of balance, finding harmony in the friction between the permanence of musical artistry and the inevitable, slow disintegration of the natural world, all rendered with an uncompromising and raw visual language.
