Mirror Mirror Magazine’s CANVAS project presents a series of character-driven portraiture that explores artistic facial application. Through a series of close-up compositions, the work experiments with heavy, textured pigments and intricate finishes that contrast against a minimalist aesthetic. Captured by photographer Philippe Vogelenzang, the editorial project showcases a range of styles including gritty, high-contrast applications and clean, bright studio lighting. Makeup artist Mascha Meyer leads the creative execution, utilizing distinct techniques to define the subjects' features. Featuring models Jelle Haen and Ole Dautzenberg, the series leans into an editorial format that prioritizes textural detail and visual impact.
