Birds of a feather is a fashion editorial produced for Mirror Mirror Magazine. Photographed by Wendelien Daan, the series captures model Elza Matiz in a collection of expressive, high-contrast compositions that utilise clean, directional lighting and vibrant textures. The project channels a range of tactile narratives, moving from aquatic environments to refined studio portraits. Editor Georgette Koning oversees the styling, which pairs sheer fabrics and feather embellishments with precise, polished accessories. Hair styling by Hester Wernert and Kathinka Gernant, paired with makeup artistry from Ellen Romeijn and Sandra Govers, maintain a consistent aesthetic throughout the shoot. The work features editorial and beauty light techniques to define the subject against both neutral and water-based backdrops.
