Description

MáLà Project’s brand identity project establishes a cohesive visual language that spans across restaurant interiors, graphic design, and motion media. The identity leans into a vibrant color palette, utilizing bold reds and pastels paired with traditional Chinese calligraphy and modern illustrative flourishes. This multi-channel approach includes custom ceramic tableware, uniform apparel, and dynamic motion graphics that translate the sensory experience of Sichuan cuisine into a polished, high-contrast aesthetic. Key creative contributions include graphic design by Jingqi Fan, illustration by Lauren Doughty, and motion work from Toby Mortimer and Alexis Jamet. The identity captures an atmosphere that balances communal dining warmth with contemporary design, further supported by the interior design efforts of LOVEISENOUGH. Photography by Guang Xu, Zach Smith, Jingqi Fan, and William Jess Laird rounds out the visual output, utilizing cinematic lighting and clean, editorial framing to ground the brand’s presence.
