Kunsthal Extra City
Brand Identity

Aug 2021
Ward Heirwegh developed the brand identity for Kunsthal Extra City, grounding the cultural institution’s visual language in precise typography and geometric structure. The system utilizes a stark palette of purple, black, and white to establish a cohesive aesthetic that spans exhibition posters, signage, and promotional collateral. The project integrates clean graphic design with the facility's existing architectural context. By pairing bold, sans-serif typography with minimalist layout precision, Heirwegh’s work bridges the gap between historical elements and contemporary exhibition programming. This identity serves as a versatile framework for editorial applications, ranging from detailed publication layouts and signage to functional textiles like screen-printed tote bags.
