Kenzo
Fall 2023 Ad Campaign

Aug 2023
For the Kenzo Fall 2023 ad campaign, creative director Nigo delivers a masterful synthesis of heritage and contemporary street-ready utility, grounding the brand's luxury fashion identity in the vibrant, kinetic energy of Japan. Captured by photographer Keizo Kitajima, the imagery channels an authentic editorial sensibility that moves fluidly between the bustling, neon-lit corridors of Tokyo and the starker, minimalist interiors of Osaka and Kyoto. The campaign leans into a visual language defined by editorial minimalism and the raw, unadorned quality of natural light, allowing the intricate textures of structured denim, wool-blend trench coats, and technical footwear to take center stage. By casting a diverse ensemble of models, including Vernon and Kiki Willems, the production emphasizes individuality against the backdrop of Japanese urban life. Stylist Marq Rise expertly navigates the layering of pinstripes, geometric stitching, and monochromatic palettes, creating a cohesive aesthetic that feels both nostalgic and distinctly modern. Through a blend of lifestyle photography and sharper, flash-lit fashion portraiture, the campaign captures a sense of spontaneous movement and cultural resonance. The final output serves as a sophisticated testament to Kenzo’s evolution under Nigo, proving that high-fashion narratives are most compelling when they feel inextricably linked to the environment they inhabit, effectively bridging the gap between global runway luxury and the lived experience of the street.
