Description

This brand identity project for artist José Parlá centres on a series of editorial monographs that translate the artist’s abstract expressionist practice into a tactile, printed medium. Developed by Javas Lehn Studio, the design language utilizes a bold, high-contrast palette of red and white, pairing structured typographic layouts with photographic reproductions of urban history and the artist's own calligraphic work. Photography by Ben Alsop captures the physical volumes in a clean, minimalist style. Using soft natural light and neutral backdrops, the documentation highlights the precise binding craftsmanship, paper textures, and graphic rhythm of the spreads. The project emphasizes the relationship between industrial, textured surfaces and refined typography.
