Gentle Monster
Spring 2024 Ad Campaign

Jan 2024
Gentle Monster continues to redefine the boundaries of eyewear through its Spring 2024 ad campaign, a masterclass in editorial minimalism that leans into a distinctly futuristic aesthetic. By synthesizing a high-fashion sensibility with sleek, sculptural accessories, the imagery crafts a cohesive visual narrative centered on ethereal, polished characters. Photographer Elizaveta Porodina anchors the series, employing a sophisticated mix of studio strobe and soft, diffused natural light to emphasize the sharp lines of the eyewear against muted, desaturated backgrounds. The execution relies on a tight, front-facing composition that highlights textural contrasts between skin, vinyl-like fabrics, and ultra-long platinum blonde hair. Stylist Tim Heyduck, alongside hair artist Pierre Saint Sever and makeup artist Patrick Glatthaar, constructs a look that feels both synthetic and human, enhanced by striking details like metallic nails crafted by Lisa Mard. Models Bo Exters and Nyaeuth Riam bring an intense, forward-facing presence to the campaign, effectively channelling the brand’s sci-fi leaning identity. With its blend of cinematic framing and high-key lighting, the work transcends traditional commercial portraiture, positioning the eyewear as central, sculptural objects of desire. This campaign is a vivid study in modern identity, capturing a cool, otherworldly mood that remains firmly rooted in the high-fashion industry, where every element—from the wet-look hair to the glittered frames—is meticulously calibrated for maximum impact.
