Family Style
Shadow Play

Mar 2026
Shadow Play, a sophisticated campaign for luxury fashion house Family Style, explores the interplay of light and architecture through a series of striking editorial portraits. The project masterfully leverages the tension between rigid, brutalist stone structures and the fluidity of high-fashion silhouettes, creating a visual narrative defined by deep chiaroscuro and cinematic composition. Under the lens of photographer Pieter Hugo, the imagery transitions seamlessly from high-key studio strobe setups that highlight fabric texture to moody, low-key natural light portraits that lean into the dramatic geometry of the setting. The aesthetic is anchored by a refined, monochromatic palette punctuated by bursts of vibrant red, a choice that emphasizes the collection's bold structural design. With creative vision supported by fashion editor Anders Solvsten Thomsen, the styling oscillates between avant-garde leather utility and soft, tactile knits, underscored by the precise, editorial hair styling of Kilian Marin and the nuanced makeup work of Serena Congiu. Casting director Anita Bitton facilitates a cold, direct gaze from the talent, including model Rolf, which reinforces the project’s overarching theme of calculated stillness. By juxtaposing raw, textured environments against pristine tailoring, Shadow Play achieves a timeless, elevated sensibility that serves as a masterclass in modern luxury fashion photography, balancing minimalist precision with rich, evocative detail to define the label’s current season identity.
