Motion Theory

Jun 2026
Motion Theory for Family Style functions as a masterclass in modern fashion editorial work, blending high-end sartorial precision with a gritty, kinetic urban sensibility. Under the vision of photographer Anatheine and fashion director Julie Ragolia, the campaign translates luxury fashion house aesthetics into a series of dynamic, street-level portraits that feel both spontaneous and deeply considered. The imagery leans into a cinematic quality, utilizing natural light to accentuate the tension between architectural garment silhouettes and the fluid movement of the model, Anine Van Velzen. Throughout the series, the styling choices serve as a narrative device; the expert touch of hair stylist Tosh and makeup artist Marie Dufresne provides sharp, occasionally subversive contrasts—such as bold matte green lips or heavy, dark eye makeup—that disrupt the muted palettes of trench coats and tailored leather. With casting by Anita Bitton, the project captures a distinct street-style energy, grounding high-fashion textures like snakeskin, faux fur, and technical fabrics against the blurred backdrop of the city. By prioritizing both textural detail and a sense of motion, the project establishes a compelling dialogue between the rigidity of luxury design and the unpredictable rhythm of life, resulting in a cohesive, visually arresting portrait that defines a contemporary aesthetic for the modern wardrobe.
