Family Style
Issue No. 9

Feb 2026
For Issue No. 9 of Family Style, photographers Elliot & Erick Jimenez push the boundaries of luxury fashion portraiture, curating a series that leans into surrealism and avant-garde aesthetic sensibilities. The project masterfully utilizes a low-key chiaroscuro lighting technique to isolate subjects against stark, solid backgrounds, forcing the viewer to engage with the intricate textures of ruffling fabrics and sculptural headwraps. Makeup artist Bo S plays a pivotal role in this narrative, employing dramatic applications—from metallic gold to matte olive pigments—that transform human faces into living canvases. By weaving in cinematic influences and long exposure effects, the imagery achieves a sense of kinetic movement and ethereal depth. The collection functions as a high-fashion editorial exploration, balancing moody, monochromatic palettes with bursts of saturated, deep red and purple hues. Rather than a traditional fashion shoot, each portrait acts as a fine art study, prioritizing artistic intentionality and form over conventional garment display. This series underscores the evolution of contemporary fashion editorial, where natural light and carefully constructed shadow converge to create an atmosphere that is at once contemplative and visually aggressive. Through this meticulous creative lens, Issue No. 9 establishes a distinct, dreamlike visual language that resonates deeply within the modern luxury fashion house landscape.
