Dior
pre-Fall 2024 Ad Campaign

Apr 2024
The Dior pre-Fall 2024 campaign is a masterclass in editorial minimalism, channeling a sophisticated dialogue between structural rigor and fluid femininity. Under the creative direction of Maria Grazia Chiuri and Margot Populaire, the project leans into a monochromatic palette, punctuated by the sharp contrast of chiaroscuro lighting. Photographer Collier Schorr captures this vision through a series of stark, high-contrast portraits that emphasize the house's storied tailoring alongside modern, accessory-driven silhouettes. Whether featuring Alice McGrath or Nayonikaa Shetty, the imagery utilizes studio strobe techniques to highlight the delicate interplay of textures—from metallic fringe and beaded embroidery to the iconic quilted leather of the Lady Dior handbag. Art direction by Christina Sulpizio provides a clean, rhythmic framework for the diverse looks, while stylist Elin Svahn balances the collection's layered formality with an understated, contemporary edge. Complementing this architectural approach, Olivier Schawalder’s vintage-inspired hair styling and Peter Philips’s precise makeup artistry ground the models in an elegant, cinematic stillness. The campaign’s reliance on intentional shadows and vintage-inspired set elements creates an atmosphere of polished mystery, successfully bridging the gap between archival reverence and forward-thinking luxury fashion design. It is a refined, cohesive body of work that demonstrates how minimalist studio environments can effectively elevate the complex materiality of a seasonal fashion narrative.
