Dazed MENA
Beauty Story - Editor

Feb 2026
Dazed MENA elevates the traditional fashion spread in this striking beauty editorial, a project that masterfully bridges the gap between high-end luxury fashion houses and avant-garde beauty aesthetics. Through a series of sharp, deliberate compositions, photographer Jean Marques crafts a visual narrative centered on the interplay between deep texture and minimalist form. The series leans into editorial minimalism, utilizing natural light and high-contrast studio strobe techniques to define the subjects against stark, off-white backgrounds. Fashion editor Omaima Salem curates an array of tactile garments, from glossy leather puffers to shimmering sequins, creating a cohesive dialogue between clothing and silhouette. The beauty direction, executed with precision by makeup artist Marie Duhart, pushes the boundaries of traditional portraiture, introducing bold, saturated pops of color like matte orange and brilliant blue alongside experimental metallic finishes. Casting director Mischa Notcutt anchors the series by selecting talent whose features provide the perfect canvas for these graphic, high-contrast looks. By blending macro beauty shots with full-length editorial silhouettes, the project succeeds as a study in chiaroscuro, utilizing low-key lighting to isolate and amplify specific elements of fashion and form. Ultimately, the work serves as a sophisticated testament to the power of deliberate, clean aesthetic choices, transforming the editorial medium into a compelling, texture-rich exploration of modern style and high-impact beauty.
