Carolina Herrera
Matryoshka Pocket

Apr 2026
Carolina Herrera leans into an air of understated urban elegance with its latest campaign for the Matryoshka Pocket collection, masterfully capturing the duality of contemporary luxury fashion houses. Through the lens of photographer David Portela, the imagery embraces a sophisticated editorial aesthetic that blurs the lines between candid lifestyle photography and polished studio portraiture. Starring Edie Campbell, the campaign follows a narrative thread of contemplative, Parisian-inspired moments—ranging from quiet cafe interludes to the intimate confines of a dimly lit vehicle—all while maintaining a sharp focus on the collection's signature red leather handbag. The visual language is defined by the strategic use of natural light and high-contrast environments, allowing the soft, floral textures of the apparel to pop against urban backdrops. With hair styling by Egon Crivillers, the model’s chic, short bob provides a clean, modern frame that complements the artistic direction. Throughout the series, the project makes effective use of cinematic techniques and bokeh effects to create a dreamy, atmospheric depth that feels both timeless and grounded in reality. By stripping back the noise and focusing on essential details—the crisp white linen of a bistro table, the subtle sheen of silk fabrics, and the structural silhouette of the Matryoshka—the campaign serves as a masterclass in clean, modern fashion storytelling that is evocative without ever feeling forced.
