This campaign for the New York City Ballet captures the fluidity and theatricality of dance through an artistic lens. Photographed by Elizaveta Porodina, the imagery emphasizes the sculptural form of the performers, utilizing long exposure and multiple exposure techniques to create ghostly, ethereal motion trails. The series leans into a cinematic aesthetic, characterized by warm, golden-hour tones and soft, moody lighting that contrasts against muted studio backgrounds. The visual narrative is defined by a sense of movement, with dancers adorned in layered textiles, translucent fabrics, and vibrant red accents. Complementing the photography, the project features hair styling by Evanie Frausto and makeup by Susie Sobol, which together heighten the ethereal quality of the performances. The result is a series of editorial-style portraits that channel both classic ballet discipline and modern, dreamlike photographic experimentation.
