For Unemployed Magazine, photographer Jason Thomas Geering presents Path of Symbols, a comprehensive fashion editorial series that reinterprets the Major Arcana of the tarot through a contemporary lens. The project captures a sequence of archetypal figures, utilizing high-contrast monochrome imagery to explore identity and form. Each composition is framed within a distinct tarot card aesthetic, incorporating gothic typography and Roman numerals to anchor the visual narrative. The execution leans into a grainy, ink-like texture, with the creative team—including hair stylist Andrita Renee, makeup artist Ryo Kuramoto, and movement director Alicia Fotino—collaborating to emphasize sculptural silhouettes and dynamic posing. The series relies on stark, graphic light and shadow to articulate the surreal and minimalist qualities of the collection.
