Unemployed Magazine explores a cinematic narrative in Late Checkout, an editorial series that leans into the nostalgic aesthetic of mid-century motel culture. Photographed by Dorota Szulc, the project captures model Lou Schoof in a range of intimate, domestic settings that evoke a sense of quiet solitude and deliberate stillness. The series utilises natural light and analogue film techniques to build a textured, retro atmosphere. By shifting between hotel bedrooms and diner booths, the photography emphasises organic materials, such as wood-paneled walls and patterned textiles, to ground the editorial in a distinct, tactile reality.
