Travel Oregon
The State of OR
Aug 2026
Travel Oregon pushes beyond the standard tourism aesthetic in The State of OR, a sweeping cinematic montage that serves as a love letter to the Pacific Northwest. Developed by the creative team at Wieden+Kennedy Portland, this project captures the state’s inherent duality, oscillating between profound stillness and high-energy activity with a technical precision that feels both intimate and grand. Through a documentary lens, the film traverses a dizzying array of environments—from the untamed majesty of snow-capped mountain peaks and misty river valleys to the tactile warmth of picking fresh fruit and fireside moments at dusk. The execution leans into a highly saturated, warm color palette that binds disparate scenes together, smoothing the transition between a chef working in a professional kitchen and the raw, kinetic power of runners navigating a city at night. By employing sophisticated live-action techniques, including seamless slow-motion captures of rolling waves and time-lapse photography, the campaign anchors its broad scope in human-centric detail. It avoids the tired cliches of travel marketing, opting instead to present Oregon as a multifaceted playground where lifestyle narratives and rugged landscape photography collide. The result is a coherent, visceral experience that prioritizes the emotional connection between the traveler and the terrain, successfully repositioning the state as a destination defined by its dynamic, ever-changing spirit.
