The Danish National Film School: Brand Identity

Date

May 2023

Description

The Danish National Film School commissioned Barkas to develop a comprehensive brand identity that balances institutional heritage with a modern, modular design system. The project translates across a range of physical and digital touchpoints, including architectural signage, informational brochures, printed program materials, and branded collateral such as reusable water bottles. The visual identity leans into a clean, minimalist aesthetic, defined by bold sans-serif typography and a versatile grid system. Barkas employs a vibrant color palette—spanning pink, green, blue, and peach—to structure and segment information across social media layouts and promotional posters. The design effectively integrates archival photography and architectural imagery, creating a cohesive graphic language through both static media and dynamic motion graphics. Each application prioritizes clarity, utilizing high-contrast compositions and textural paper stocks to establish a tactile, contemporary presence.
