Stone Island
Spring/Summer 2024 Ad Campaign

Jan 2024
Stone Island redefines the intersection of high-performance technical outerwear and cultural narrative with its Spring/Summer 2024 campaign. Eschewing the typical glossy artifice of luxury fashion houses, the series leans into a stark, documentarian aesthetic that prioritizes individual identity alongside the brand’s industrial pedigree. Creative Director Ferdinando Verderi crafts a compelling visual rhythm, pairing the raw, textured materiality of signature nylon jackets with the introspective quality of a research questionnaire. Captured by photographer David Sims, the portrait series features a distinct ensemble cast—including Jason Statham, Tricky, and Dave—who ground the campaign in a palpable, lived-in reality. By utilizing a clean white studio backdrop, the imagery allows the intricate fabrication of the garments, such as the Dissolving Grid Camo and metallic-finish nylon, to take center stage. The execution makes masterful use of editorial typography, treating interview excerpts as a graphic structural element that mirrors the precision of the apparel. Utilizing a mix of studio strobe and natural light, the campaign maintains a consistent editorial minimalism that frames these high-end pieces as tools for modern living. Stylist Max Pearmain keeps the focus tight on the synergy between the subject’s personality and the functionality of the utility-driven silhouettes. This approach effectively positions Stone Island as a purveyor of intellectual lifestyle design, where the wearer’s narrative is as essential as the compass patch on the sleeve.
