SSENSE presents HEAT, a fashion editorial series that captures a raw, summer-inspired aesthetic through a minimalist urban lens. The project leans into high-contrast photography, utilizing hard, direct sunlight and harsh shadows against stark concrete and asphalt environments to ground the high-fashion styling. Photographed by CG Watkins with styling by François Gravel, the series features models Alina Chalyshyr and Daniil Kercz in candid, everyday settings—ranging from parking lots to rooftops. The execution relies on analogue film techniques and natural light, prioritizing clean compositions that highlight textured surfaces and physical movement, including high-speed shots that freeze water droplets against the industrial backdrop. Casting direction by Monika Domarke rounds out the production.
