Special Projects
Photography by Ben Taylor

In this series of portraits by photographer Ben Taylor, commissioned by Special Projects, the focus remains firmly on the intersection of elevated tailoring and domestic intimacy. The editorial collection leans into a minimalist aesthetic, utilizing consistent natural light to anchor a diverse array of experimental textures and bold graphic patterns. Through the sharp lens of Taylor, each portrait captures a deliberate interplay between the subject and their environment, moving seamlessly between clean, studio-like setups and lived-in, domestic interiors. Fashion editor and stylist Gary David Moore curates a daring wardrobe, pairing structured leather garments with playful, high-contrast textiles such as heraldic prints and delicate floral motifs. The models, including Charlie Tilling-Cole and Harry Foster, embody a relaxed yet composed posture that highlights the complexity of the styling, from distinctive silver-tone ring buckles to polished, pointed-toe footwear. With hair styling by Moe Mukai and casting direction by Arthur Méjean, the project maintains a cohesive visual language that elevates commercial portraiture into a study of character and composition. By stripping away extraneous artifice, these images emphasize a refined approach to menswear, where the tactile qualities of the clothing—rendered in soft focus and even lighting—become the true protagonist of the narrative. The result is a sophisticated exploration of modern style that balances deliberate art direction with an accessible, contemporary energy.
