LER1VE

May 2026
The LER1VE project by Special Projects serves as a masterclass in fashion editorial storytelling, masterfully capturing the intersection of luxury apparel and rugged, elemental landscapes. Photographer Kuba Lereve navigates the complexities of the coastal environment with a sophisticated eye, utilizing low-key chiaroscuro lighting to elevate the collection beyond standard fashion photography. By juxtaposing the tactile richness of faux fur, lace, and sharp tailoring against the harsh, jagged reality of rock formations and crushed seashell ground, the imagery creates a visceral, cinematic atmosphere. This editorial approach leans into a sense of introspective stillness, where the interplay of natural light—ranging from the soft diffusion of a misty day to the saturated purple gradients of deep twilight—defines the mood of every frame. The visual narrative relies on minimalist compositions and a careful balance between shadow and soft highlight, allowing the textured garments to emerge as key players in a larger, mysterious world. This project effectively utilizes cinematic techniques to strip back the noise, focusing on the raw connection between the subject and the terrain. The resulting portfolio reads as a cohesive study in contrast, where each shot is meticulously framed to emphasize both the vulnerability and the inherent power of the human figure against the timeless, atmospheric backdrop of the sea.
