The Obsessions is a sprawling fashion editorial for Self Service magazine, captured through the lens of photographer Bella Newman. Centered on model Irina Shayk, the project traverses various rural, woodland, and suburban settings to build an atmospheric, character-driven visual narrative. The execution leans heavily into an analogue film aesthetic, utilizing noticeable grain and soft natural light to ground the high-fashion wardrobe in raw, organic environments. Fashion editor and stylist Tony Irvine anchors the visual identity of the shoot, curating dark, structured tailoring and layered knitwear that contrasts against the sprawling, overgrown landscapes. The editorial is further shaped by the grooming team, with hair stylist Erol Karadağ and makeup artist Allie Smith opting for sharp, minimal, and textured aesthetics that remain consistent across diverse lighting conditions. The project was produced under the creative direction of Editor-in-Chief Ezra Petronio, resulting in a cohesive series that balances nostalgic, cinematic moods with experimental light-leak techniques.
