For the Sacai S/S 2024 collection, photographer Stas Komarovski captures the architectural silhouettes and intricate layering of the Paris runway presentation from backstage. Working with direction from designer Chitose Abe, the series functions as an editorial documentation of the collection's contemporary, structural focus. Fashion editor and stylist Karl Templer brings a tactile approach to the casting, which features models including Anok Yai, Vittoria Ceretti, and Mariacarla Boscono. The imagery utilizes soft, directional lighting and a desaturated palette to highlight the interplay of heavy knitwear, voluminous denim, and sheer technical fabrics. Executed with hair by Guido Palau and makeup by Diane Kendal, the portraits employ a consistent, moody grey backdrop across the series. The aesthetic leans into a combination of editorial portraiture and analogue film techniques to frame the interplay between raw backstage atmosphere and refined designer tailoring.
