Purple Magazine
LOU DOILON

Mar 2026
Purple Magazine continues its legacy of uncompromising style with this compelling editorial feature starring Lou Doillon. Under the editorial guidance of Olivier Zahm, the project leans into a cinematic aesthetic that perfectly captures Doillon’s enigmatic presence. Through the lens of photographer Suffo Moncloa, the series moves effortlessly between moody, low-key chiaroscuro lighting and soft, natural light, creating a tactile narrative that emphasizes the interplay between shadow and form. Fashion editor and stylist Marine Braunschvig curates a wardrobe defined by intense textures—from metallic sequin shift dresses and fringe-detailed leather to intricate crochet—each garment chosen to accentuate the geometry of Doillon’s posture. The execution feels intimate and raw, particularly in the monochromatic studio portraits where the stark, minimalist composition forces the viewer to focus entirely on the subject. With deliberate hair styling by Alexandry Costa and precise makeup by Helene Vasnier, the imagery feels both timeless and grounded in contemporary editorial minimalism. Whether shot on film or captured with high-contrast precision, the project avoids the clutter of traditional fashion spreads, favoring a controlled, sophisticated atmosphere. By grounding such high-fashion attire in a moody, stripped-back environment, the team creates a series of portraits that feel like intimate, stolen moments rather than a standard commercial production, cementing the feature as a standout moment in modern media and entertainment.
