Instinctual Design is a fashion editorial series featured in Other Scenes Magazine, exploring the intersection of sculptural form and minimalist aesthetics. Captured by photographer Marco Lessi, the project leans into a monochrome palette and precise, controlled studio lighting to highlight the tactile qualities of high-fashion textiles and avant-garde tailoring. The series features model Cecilia Wu, whose poses are set against stark architectural backdrops, ranging from brushed stainless steel panels to clean, off-white surfaces. Fashion editor Camilla Pole curates a wardrobe defined by layered textures, deconstructed silhouettes, and metallic hardware, while set designer Romain Goudinoux complements the clothing with curated, organic still-life arrangements and modernist furniture. Techniques such as soft, diffused studio lighting and sharp natural light are employed to emphasize the structural geometry of the garments. With hair by Hikaru and makeup by Anna Kato, the series maintains a restrained, contemporary tone throughout.
