Modern Matter presents a series of editorial portraits featuring artist Adel Abdessemed. The project spans both studio and location settings, juxtaposing controlled, clean studio environments with candid urban observations. Photographer Osma Harvilahti captures the subject using analogue film techniques, focusing on natural light to define texture and composition. Set design by Michael Price contributes a sculptural quality to the series, from the use of architectural models to the layering of urban infrastructure. Edited by Olu Odukoya, the collection maintains a cohesive editorial aesthetic through desaturated palettes and vertical framing.
