MMScene: POSITIONS

POSITIONS is an editorial project for MMScene featuring a series of minimalist portraits by photographer Joey Leo. The work explores the interplay between the human form and its environment, utilizing a consistent studio-based approach to capture the subject in various states of repose and interaction with sculptural elements. Defined by a clean, monochromatic aesthetic, the imagery leans into high-contrast lighting to accentuate contours and texture. Many of the compositions are presented as diptychs, contrasting intimate close-ups with wider, grounded studio frames to build a deliberate, graphic narrative through form and shadow. The project emphasizes a refined, contemporary look while maintaining a tactile, fine art quality throughout the series.
