Scenes From a Fictional Play is a fashion editorial for Luncheon Magazine that explores the boundaries between photography and stage performance. Captured by photographer William Waterworth, the project frames its subjects within custom-built wooden enclosures and industrial settings, blending theatrical narratives with a distinct editorial sensibility. The execution relies on analogue film techniques, using soft natural light to define the interplay between the structured garments and the raw, textured environments created by set designer Rory Mullen. Fashion editor Rebecca Perlmutar directs a visual language that juxtaposes stark, minimalist staging with elaborate period-inspired costumes. The series features detailed hair and makeup work by Laurence Walker and Charlie Murray, respectively, while casting by Nachum Shonn anchors the ensemble cast within these constructed architectural spaces.
