Rooted Silence is a fashion editorial series commissioned by Lula Japan, captured by photographer Eleonora Vergnano. The project leans into a raw, atmospheric aesthetic, documenting a quiet, grounded mood set within rural alpine landscapes. The imagery balances the rugged textures of weathered stone, mountain ridges, and rustic fencing against soft, layered knitwear and sculptural tailoring. Employing a grainy, analogue film technique, the series shifts between high-contrast monochrome and desaturated, cool colour palettes to evoke a sense of nostalgia. The compositions often utilise soft natural light to highlight intimate details—from the texture of crochet and faux fur to the delicate placement of flora—creating a tactile, contemplative narrative.
